Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got married and the news of the wedding in France was reported days later after the fact. Thus one of the world’s most famous couples pulled off what may seem impossible in this day and age, a secret wedding! Now in the aftermath, celebrity news outlets report details. Here’s a roundup of what’s being reported.
The couple known throughout the world as Brangelina have made news yet again by managing to not make news for several days. The wedding took place five days before it was reported. That’s a triumph and in retrospect gratifying no doubt for the couple to have maintained their privacy, evading all, even the telephoto lens of paparazzi. The 50-year-old Brad Pitt and the 39-year-old Angelina Jolie were married on their own terms.
Now in the aftermath, according to E! News, quoting an official spokesperson for the couple, what’s being described as an “intimate ceremony” took place at a chapel at the couple’s multimillion dollar estate, Chateau Mirval, France.
The nuptials are said to have been attended by 22 guests who included all six of their children. Also attending were Brad Pitts’ parents, Bill and Jane Pitt as well as his brother, Doug Pitt, his sister Julie Neal and her two children.
As for the ceremony it’s being reported that the couple’s two oldest sons, Maddox and Pax, walked Angelina Jolie down the aisle and their daughters Zahara, Vivienne, Shiloh and Knox served as flower girls and ring bearers.
As for the wedding gown, it was a white gown described as “very traditional, but very Angie, it was comfortable but plain white floor-length antique lace and silk.” A designer has, as of yet, not been reported. Brad Pitt is reported to have worn a “cream linen suits” as did their sons. Their daughters are said to have all worn different dresses of their own choosing.
There is speculation as to the designer of the wedding rings; reportedly they were designed by Robert Procop, who is the designer of Jolie’s 16-carat (estimated) emerald-cut engagement ring.
Brad Pitt debuted his wedding ring five days later during a press even for ‘Furry,’ his World War II movie, which was held in Dorset. Reportedly the wedding band is worth $10,000, according celebrity jeweller Vashi Dominguez.
The Daily Mail reports that a source told them that the couple chose to marry in France in fulfillment of a promise Angelina Jolie made to her mother as well as in commemoration of the 10-year-anniversary of the shooting of the movie, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” which, as the world knows, is where the couple first met and fell in love, creating what’s become iconic onscreen chemistry, even as it because quite the tabloid fodder in the aftermath.
