The Rolling Stones Set 2012 Tour Dates

the rolling stonesjcojun18 The Rolling Stones Set 2012 Tour Dates

Earlier this week, we noted that the Greatest Rock N Roll Band in the World, the Rolling Stones, were hitting the studio to work on new material, and we speculated that a new album or tour may be to come to celebrate the band’s 50th Anniversary.  Well, Billboard is claiming that a source has leaked to the that the Rolling Stones will indeed play four dates in November—two in London and two in New York.

The two London-based shows will be at London’s O2 Arena, and the two stateside shows will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  The shows will be promoted by Virgin’s Richard Branson and an Australian promoter named Paul Dainty.  The Stones will received $25 million four each show—meaning the band will nab a cool $100 million for playing four gigs.

Billboard notes that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards had both stated, earlier this year, that the Stones would not perform in 2012; however, in July, Richards teased that the band may have changed its mind:

“We’re playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals…We’ve got together, and it feels so good.  There’s things in the works; I think it’s definitely happening. But when? I can’t say yet.”

No word yet on further concert dates (if any).

What do you think of the Stones news?
