He lived 63 years on the earth and during that time Robin Williams made the world a much better place.
After news of the “Good Morning Vietnam” star’s passing began circulating last night (August 11), a host of actors, musicians and other famous folks shared their reactions through touching tweets.
Williams’ “Night at the Museum” costar Ben Stiller wrote, “A tweet cannot begin to describe the hugeness of Robin Williams heart and soul and talent. This is so sad,” and Rihanna added, “Heartbreaking news about the late Robin Williams. May his soul now be at peace!”
“How I Met Your Mother” actor Neil Patrick Harris shared, “I am stunned and just reeling from the news of Robin Williams' death. He brought so much joy and heart to millions... Just, wow,” while Lance Armstrong noted, “RIP Robin. I will always remember you as one hell of a friend. I love you and will miss you terribly.”
Citing Williams’ iconic role on “Mork and Mindy,” Jenny McCarthy wrote, “RIP to one of the greatest comedic and dramatic actors of our time. We will miss you. #NaNuNaNu,” and Miley Cyrus shared, “I can't take the Robin Williams news. I've never cried over someone I've never met but I can't stop.”
Anna Kendrick quoted Robin’s brilliant work in “Dead Poets Society” in her tweet, “O Captain! My Captain! Rise up and hear the bells. Rise up, for you the flag is flung, for you the bugle trills,” and living legend Steve Martin chimed in, “I could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul.”
Additionally, Jared Leto wrote, “Thank you to the beautifully original + brave artist that is #RobinWilliams. You taught us how to stand on the edge, fearless, + shine,” and John Krasinski shared, “To the kindest hearted man. Robin, know you will always be remembered by smiles, laughter and love. Thank you.
