The birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby is going to be the event of the year, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a very special surprise planned for the other babies born on the same day.
According to a report, the Royal Mint has coined 2,013 silver pennies to be gifted to the British infants lucky to have the same birthday Will and Kate’s progeny.
The meaning behind the gesture comes from the tradition of crossing the palm of a newborn baby with silver for good fortune and health.
And per Shane Bissett of the Royal Mint, “We wanted to share the royal milestone with mothers and fathers across the country.”
