Arctic Monkeys To Release New Album In 2013

Arctic Monkeys Will Immediately Head To Studio After Touring Arctic Monkeys To Release New Album In 2013

The Arctic Monkeys are working on new music, and drummer Matt Helders has given strong hints that they’ll release it sometime this year. He didn’t give any official dates, but it makes a lot sense because the band recently announced a string of U.S. tour dates.

Helders told NME that the band has just been working together, “writing and stuff.” But it seems like the Arctic Monkeys don’t want to be held to any deadlines, because Helders didn’t offer an actual release date for the new album.

“There’s no time deadlines or anything like that for release. We’re just getting back into it, because it always takes a while to get back into it.”

It’s been two years since the band released their last album, Suck It and See, which charted on the Billboard 200 at the time.

Helders told the publication that the record will sound like “2013.” He didn’t add much to his short description, saying:

“Well, we’d be stupid if we made a 2013 album and released it next year.”

The Arctic Monkeys will hit the road in May. They’ll be making stops in Montana, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington. It’s likely that the new record will arrive after the fact, but expect to hear some new music at their shows.

Are you excited for new Arctic Monkeys music?
