Cat Power‘s Chan Marshall may be canceling her entire European tour due to illness and financial woes. A few days ago, the singer was forced to postpone a show in Philadelphia due to Hurricane Sandy, but now it seems like she’ll have to scrap the whole thing.

Cat Power posted a note photo on Instagram, detailing why she might have to pull the plug on the tour. Here’s what she said:

“I MAY HAVE TO CANCEL MY EUROPEAN TOUR DUE TO BANKRUPTCY & MY HEALTH STRUGGLE WITH ANGIOEDEMA. I HAVE NOT THROWN IN ANY TOWEL, I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT BEST I CAN DO. HEART BROKEN. WORKED SO HARD. GOT SICK DAY AFTER “SUN” CAME OUT & BEEN STRUGGLING TO KEEP ALL POINTS OF ME IN EQUILIBRIUM : MIND, SPIRIT, BODY HEALTHY CENTERED & GROUNDED. I AM DOING THE BEST I CAN. I FUCKING LOVE THIS PLANET. I REFUSE TO GIVE UP. THOUGH I MAY NEED TO RESTRATAGIZE FOR MY SECURITY & HEALTH.”

According to Spin, Marshall was hospitalized last month in Miami for undisclosed health reasons. Also, sources have said that she’s been acting erratic onstage lately. During one of her recent shows at Mill City Night in Minnesota, the singer is said to have kicked several credentialed photographers out of the show while telling the audience, “I’m here for you, I’m not here for them.”

In the past, Cat Power has had a lot of public problems with nerves and substance abuse. In 2006, she canceled her tour and checked into a hospital. This time, her shows are becoming unpredictable, but it’s for serious medical reasons. She hasn’t canceled her tour yet, but if that’s what she has to do to get better and gain focus, she should step away. She can always return whenever she’s ready and financially stable.

Cat Power’s most recent record, Sun, came out on September 4, 2012.

Here’s a list of shows left on Marshall’s itinerary:
