It’s a bad enough problem that they both host shows with the same concept; rehashing recent viral videos with commentary. But now they have a real problem, and it’s getting personal.
Apparently Tosh did a bit on his show that basically spoofed Rob’s other show (Fantasy Factory). The bit made it seem like Dyrdek has a thing for young boys, and showed a bunch of kids playing around in his indoor skate park/arena.
Rob responded in a pretty surprising way on Twitter:
“The idea of having beef with @danieltosh is truly embarrassing … for real … imagine that ‘clip show host’ beef … but now that beef is very real.”
As for Tosh, he replied:
“…fair enough but if you have to beat me up, can we film it and put it on my show so people will actually watch it?”
That’s where they left off. We will have to wait and see if they ever take it that far.
The thing that bothers me is that yes, Tosh had the show first, but his humor is so dry and sort of disturbing. One episode showed a guy taking his toddler along for a ride on a skateboard. They dropped down into an empty pool and the little boy had his head totally smashed on the concrete. I literally lost sleep over that.
Sure, Rob shows some disturbing stuff on his show, too. People really get hurt. But there’s a difference in their sense of humor. Tosh is sort of gross, and takes it too far.
On top of that, I bet if you combined the ratings for all of Rob’s shows they are far higher than Tosh’s.
I think it would be a good thing to let them duke it out. It would be pretty ironic because for once they would be the people getting hurt while other people laughed away.
