Simon Cowell Squashes Beyonce, Mariah Carey 'X Factor' Rumors
Judge also takes shot at 'The Voice,' asking, 'How many artists have they discovered?'

<P>Simon Cowell is finally opening up about the cast shakeups on "The X Factor" as well as about rumors that two <i>very</i> famous divas are in talks to join Fox's reality singing competition. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Simon Cowell Compares The British And U.S. Versions Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:698604.id:1672066" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Late last month, it was announced that judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones had been <a href="/news/articles/1678191/paula-abdul-exits-x-factor.jhtml"><P>id="1678191">fired from "X Factor"</a> and would be replaced in its second season. The announcement came as a shock to fans, but Cowell tells <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/simon-cowell-x-factor-firings-voice-287806" target="_blank">"Extra"</a> in an interview airing Wednesday (February 8) that the decision was a long time coming and was ultimately made "at the beginning of the year — and we were told it had to happen straight away." </P><P> </P><P>While her dismissal came as a surprise, Cowell says Abdul "was very gracious" about it. "She understands it's business," Cowell said of his real-life friend. "It's never personal." </P><P> </P><P>Scherzinger, according to Cowell, was "disappointed" with the producers' decision to replace her. But the former Pussycat Doll insisted in a new <a href="http://www.accesshollywood.com/nicole-scherzinger-talks-x-factor-departure-i-have-no-regrets_article_60184" target="_blank">"Access Hollywood"</a> interview that she "had a wonderful experience on the show." </P><P> </P><P>"What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show," she said. "I know everybody's talking about it, they're saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can't say is that I didn't give it my all." </P><P> </P><P>Cowell also used his time with "Extra" to squash rumors that Beyoncé or Mariah Carey might be joining the "X Factor" team when it returns to Fox later this year. He seemed particularly amused by <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/08/idUS114237084820120208" target="_blank">talk</a> that the show was offering Beyoncé a nine-figure contract to join the judges' table. </P><P> </P><P>"The budget for the show is $100 million. That would never ever happen. </P><P> </P><P>It's absolute nonsense," he told "Extra." "No one is going to pay $100 million for someone. I genuinely haven't had a conversation with her about it. Not at all." </P><P> </P><P>The same can be said for Carey, who Cowell said he likes very much and would be a fine addition to the show but is an impractical choice because of the long hours involved. "I adore her, love her," he said. </P><P>"But you can't expect someone who has just had two kids [and] has a record career to make the kind of commitment we would need on this show." </P><P> </P><P>"X Factor" did not perform as strongly as expected in the ratings last fall, which many feel precipitated the planned revamp, though the ever-cool Cowell is not sweating the competition. In this latest interview, Cowell took on "The Voice," which returned to NBC after the Super Bowl and delivered big ratings, saying the makeup of his judging panel is what sets "X Factor" apart. </P><P> </P><P>"I would ask how many records have they made, how many artists have they discovered?" Cowell asked of "The Voice" mentors Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. "That's where we have to be different on the judging panel. It's very important that you have people on the panel that have actually signed and made artists successful all over the world, not just have made hit records yourself."</p>

Holly Madison Wants To Eat Her Placenta

Former Playboy bunny Holly Madison said she wants to eat her placenta after her first child is born.
“This might sound gross, but I’m totally planning on having my placenta turned into pills I can take after giving birth,” she wrote on her blog.
Posting a picture of placenta pills in a glass jar, said, “I heard it helps women recover faster and I want to recover as quickly as I can!
It may sound strange but, Madison is not the first celebrity mom to do this. Actress January Jones opened up to People magazine about consuming placenta pills after giving birth to her son Xander.
“Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins,” Jones told the magazine. “It’s something I was very hesitant about, but we’re the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas. It’s not witch-crafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!”
Madison, 33, and her boyfriend, Pasquale Rotella, are expecting their first child together March 5th.

Lady Gaga Has Hip Surgery, Cancels Tour
Fans of Lady Gaga now have multiple reasons to mourn—not only has their master announced that she has had last-minute hip surgery, she has also been forced to cancel the 22 remaining dates on the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour. Gaga announced the news on her blog late Wednesday.
According to Billboard, the Gags required surgery to fix an ailing hip, and, in doing so cancels 22 dates on a tour that began last April. Four dates had originally been postponed after live difficulties during a Montreal show. And, as Billboard notes, “she explained to fans on Twitter that she’d hurt herself while performing some time ago.”
The cancellation of so many shows means Gaga will have to refund approximately 200,000 tickets to fans, which roughly equates to about $25 million in gross profits that Gaga will have to turn away.
And so, as Billboard notes, Lady Gaga’s fans will have to wait until the next tour (coming after the release of the new album, ARTPOP, later this year). But as Gaga herself says, it’s all just a “bump in the road”:
“I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles — sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it’s even possible. So I thought to myself, I’m alive, I’m living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I’m grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything.”

Bradley Cooper to Headline "Kokowaah" Remake
Coming off an Academy Award nomination for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook,” Bradley Cooper has signed on to star in a remake of the German film “Kokowaah.”
The handsome hunk may also direct the Warner Brothers English language version of the popular flick.
“Kokowaah” follows the drama that emerges when a writer, Henry, learns he has an eight-year old daughter, Magdalena.

Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' Single Is 'Definitely Edgier'
Producer/songwriter tells MTV News the 'sexier' track, which drops Monday, will 'definitely surprise people.'

While fans will have to wait until Monday to hear the song, MTV News got a little bit of a tease from one of the guys who worked with the teen sensation on the track. </P><P> </P><P> "This record is different in a very good way," "BF" co-producer and co-writer Mason Levy told MTV News. "Definitely edgier, it's more grown-up, it's more developed and it's sexier. It's just like really dope. It's gonna definitely surprise people. His model was the post-'NSYNC Justin Timberlake. From the sound of it, he might have hit that nail on the head. </P><P> </P><P>"It's more just the verses [that he raps on] and the rest he's singing," he said. "It's dope. It's hip-hop, but with great acoustic R&B, pop guitar with very hip-hop, clubby drums and really dope Justin Timberlake-y melodies." </P><P> </P><P>The creation of the song was pretty organic, Levy said. "We got together and started messing around. It was one of those things where you didn't have to struggle too much. It just kind of happened," he said. "He always goes in and does melodies and he's involved in lyrics and everything." </P><P> </P><P>"Boyfriend" will set the tone for the album, set for release later this year. "There's definitely lots of diversity on the album. There's really ballad-y stuff and there's more stuff like this. I would say ['Boyfriend'] is harder," Levy added. Robert Plants Hints At A Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour
Robert Plant has opened the floodgate of rumors about a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. While speaking to Australia’s version of 60 Minutes, the frontman said that he was open to reuniting with his former band mates next year since he’s got nothing else going on. Basically, he’s totally game if the rest are!
Plant said that he was waiting on Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones to agree with the idea of a reunion tour. He also blamed their coyness (and silence on the matter) on the fact that they’re both Capricorns.
“They don’t say a word. They’re quite contained in their own worlds and they leave it to me. I’m not the bad guy. You need to see the Capricorns – I’ve got nothing to do in 2014.”
The last time Led Zeppelin performed together it was in 2007, at London’s o2 Arena. Jason Bonham drummed in the place of his late father John.
Back when the show happened, Page and Jones said they were willing to go on tour as a band, but Plant wasn’t into the idea. (‘Til now he’s actually been very against the idea, but we’re guessing he’s had a little change of heart.) Page and Jones even considered finding a replacement for Plant, but eventually ditched the “reunion tour” idea all together.
We’re just hoping that now that Plant is open to this idea, Page and Jones are also on board. It’d be a shame to have to find replacements.

Photographer Who Scuffled With Justin Bieber Identified: I Don’t Have a Lawyer – Yet
The photographer who scuffled with Justin Bieber on Sunday has broken his silence, revealing that he hasn¹t hired a lawyer despite filing a complaint against the pop star with the Los Angeles County Sheriff.
Paparazzo Jose Sarros told Celebuzz, in an exclusive interview: “I don’t have a lawyer — yet. The report that I spoke to a lawyer is a lie. But I cannot talk more about what happened.”
Celebuzz has also learned the “Boyfriend” singer is lucky that Sarros did not fight back: the photographer is known in Hollywood’s paparazzi clique as being a karate black belt!
Sarros told sheriff¹s deputies Bieber, 18, struck him in the face during an altercation at at a suburban shopping centre in Calabasas, Calif., in front of girlfriend Selena Gomez, 19.
Sarros complained of pain and requested medical attention.
Sheriff’s officials have said he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and later released.
Officials said the photographer, who was not identified by police, requested that a criminal report be taken on the allegation of battery.
A lawyer who was at the scene reportedly approached Sarros to tell him that he could make some money out of the incident.
The lawyer also suggested that he should file a report and to call an ambulance.
“That’s not true,” Sarros told Celebuzz.

Look who’s walking!
Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Rebecca Gayheart was seen helping her daughter Georgia, 13 months, take some baby steps at the park in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (February 23). Joined by big sister Billie, nearly 3, the gorgeous group had a blast at the playground on the sunny afternoon.
Later that same day, Rebecca and Billie were photographed with papa Eric Dane. The trio stepped out for some shopping at Eggy in West Hollywood.
Eric, who recently left Grey’s Anatomy after six seasons, will next be seen as Captain Tom Chandler in a new TV movie, The Last Ship, directed by Michael Bay.
And Rebecca is currently filming the romantic comedy For Better or for Worse, costarring Jeffrey Tambor and Janeane Garofalo.

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Files Appeal
Murray will represent himself as he contests involuntary manslaughter conviction for which he faces up to four years in state prison.

He reportedly listed "Men's Central Jail" and his booking number in the space on the appeal document where a lawyer would normally list a firm's name or contact information. </P><P> </P><P>TMZ also reported that although Murray seems to be without a lawyer, he is still in communication with Nareg Gourjian, one of the attorneys who represented him during his manslaughter trial. </P><P> </P><P>"This case presents a gold mine of issues for any appellate lawyer," Gourjian told TMZ. "Dr. Murray is confident that the Court of Appeal will vindicate him." </P><P> </P><P>Following the guilty verdict, Murray's lead defense lawyer Ed Chernoff told CNN, "What matters most right now is trying to keep Dr. Murray from taking up a prison cell in this community. That's what we're focusing on right now, and we'll deal with an appeal after that." </P><P> </P><P><a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">Murray was sentenced to four years</a> in jail Tuesday, but due to overcrowding, he's unlikely to serve his full term. </p>

Fergie Is Pregnant In Paris
Mom-to-be Fergie was seen at the Kanye West concert in Paris, France on Monday (February 25). Sporting a black tee and blazer, we caught a glimpse of the singer’s barely there baby bump.
Earlier that same day, we saw the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman, 37, arriving at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
Last week Fergie announced that she and husband, hunky actor Josh Duhamel, are expecting their first child.
“Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump,” she tweeted.
