Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover 'An Emotional Purging'
Pop singer sings 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' for Amnesty International anniversary album.

<P>It's hard to associate <MTVNLINK type="artist" id="3213641">Ke$ha</MTVNLINK> with songs about anything other than hot guys, body glitter and partying. But she's defying her usual topics of interest for human rights organization Amnesty International. The singer is one of the many musicians on the org's <i>Chimes of Freedom</i> compilation of Bob Dylan's music, out January 24.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover Choice 'An Accident'" id="vid:720838" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>When MTV News spoke with K-Dollar Sign last week about her <a href="/news/articles/1676172/kesha-sleazy-remix.jhtml">all-star remix of "Sleazy,"</a> she also opened up about switching gears vocally and emotionally for her version of Dylan's classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right."</P><P>"I mean, I think it's pretty well known that he's one of, if not my most, favorite artists of all time and ... one of the most amazing lyricists as well — the original storyteller," she explained. "So I love Bob Dylan and this was just, like, a dream. When they asked me to do a cover, I was just, like, salivating and going through all my records. It was so fun. It was the best homework assignment you could possibly have."</P><P>K's version of Dylan's song is a slow-burning, heartbreaking ode to the already heartbreaking classic, where she channels Dylan through lyrics like "Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say/ To try and make me change my mind and stay/ We never did too much talkin' anyway/ So don't think twice, it's all right."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="What Is The Biggest Perk Of Being A Headliner? (2011)" id="vid:642810" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>Ke$ha had originally intended to record another Dylan track, but when she heard that someone else had their sights set on it, she settled on "Don't Think Twice," prompting a catharsis she could never have imagined.</P><P>"This song was kind of an accident. I sat down and this is the first take that I ever sang," she recalled. "I just sat down on my bed for the first time after months of being on tour and I just started crying, and it was kind of like an emotional purging, and you can hear it on the record."</P><P>In addition to Ke$ha and her contribution, the album will feature 75 other Dylan classics recorded by nearly 80 artists including Adele, Miley Cyrus, "Glee" star Darren Criss, My Chemical Romance, Evan Rachel Wood and Sugarland. The album pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International.</P>

Sherri Shepherd: “I’m Trying To Have Another Baby”
It seems comedienne and host of The View Sherri Shepherd, 45, has babies on the brain.
“I’m trying to have another baby you know, I’m still trying to have another baby, still looking for a uterus,” Sherri tells Rachael Ray during an appearance on her show. “I’ll give you a free weave and a Hyundai for a year.”
“I don’t know how we’re going to have this baby because I’m in my forties and I can’t even remember my first son’s name but I’m going to have another baby because I’m feeling good,” she adds.
When it comes to keeping her looks fresh and new, Sherri claims her hubby and TV writer Lamar Sally isn’t complaining.
“The problem with wearing a wig is when I get home I take it off and I fling it so he wakes up in the morning and sees this big piece of hair,” she laughs. “The thing is he doesn’t complain because he says it’s like he has 9 wives because I am like a different woman every night with the hair.”
The couple recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and “didn’t do anything specifically special. We went to Karaoke.”
Sherri’s 7-year-old son Jeffrey walked her down the aisle during her 2011 wedding to Lamar.

Nearly 740,000 votes were cast across the five categories (hip-hop, R&B, EDM, rock and pop) resulting in a winners' list led by both fan-favorite veteran acts and relative newcomers.</P><P>So who took home the gold in our Summer Jam Games? Single mom Jamie Lynn Spears shared a new photo with her 4-year-old daughter Maddie.
“Thanks for this pic,” the Zoey 101 star, 21, wrote via Instagram to an online fan. She then shared another photo with, “Homework of a 4 yr old.”
Last week, the country singer shared a sweet shot of Maddie and mommy enjoying storybook time.
Maddie’s father is Jamie Lynn’s ex, Casey Aldridge.
“It was 2007,” Jamie Lynn shared of her teen pregnancy. “I had been on a Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, and after we wrapped shooting, I just wanted to go home to Louisiana and finish high school, be a cheerleader, all that. Then I found out I was pregnant [by then- boyfriend Casey Aldridge]. I was 16. I’d had one boyfriend. It doesn’t make it perfect or all right. But I was judged for something that probably most everyone does. I was young. I was in love. I was like every other teenager, except I had this last name. And I made a decision that is forever my decision.”

Peta2 is bestowing awards including Most Animal-Friendly Pop/Hip-Hop Artist to celebs for their support of animal rights.

<P>PETA's youth division, peta2, is giving props to celebs like <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> and "Glee" star Lea Michele at this year's <a href="http://features.peta2.com/libby-awards-2011/?utm_campaign=1211%20Libbys%20Nominees%20Press%20Pitches&utm_source=peta2%20Pitch&utm_medium=Media#PeopleAndMusic" target="_blank">Libby Awards</a> for their efforts in support of animal rights.</P><P>The Biebs, who appeared in a <a href="/news/articles/1656302/justin-bieber-peta-ad.jhtml">campaign</a> for the organization at the top of the year using Bieber-fied catch-phrases like "My world includes passion for animals, yours should too" and "Animals can make u smile. Adopt from your local shelter," is taking on fellow animal-loving pop star Ke$ha and rappers k-os and Waka Flocka Flame in the Most Animal-Friendly Pop/Hip-Hop Artist category. Ke$ha appeared in an ad campaigning against the slaughter of Canadian seals.</P><P>Michele, who speaks out against the mistreatment of carriage horses in New York City, faces off against "Jackass" star Steve-O, Cobra Starship's leading man and peta2's Sexiest Vegetarian Gabe Saporta, and "Victorious" star Daniella Monet in the Top Animal-Friendly Celebrity category.</P><P>The Ready Set, Tokio Hotel, Hellogoodbye and the Swellers are all up for Most Animal-Friendly Band. Ke$ha and Tokio are also up for Best peta2 ad along with Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness and Yelle.</P><P>The Libby (as in "Liberation") Awards will be decided on January 17 by fan votes as well as peta2. Carly Rae Jepsen Gets Warning From Lady Gaga After Breaking Hot 100 Record

 played some new music for her fans from a car in a New York City parking lot on Sunday night.</P><P>In barely audible footage <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a394632/lady-gaga-plays-new-track-on-car-stereo-for-fans-in-new-york.html" target="_blank">posted</a> online, the dance track plays in the background — the majority of what is heard in the video is the club-banging beat. Gaga sits in the backseat of an SUV as fans call the track "amazing." The 38-second clip ends with the Mother Monster driving away from her fans.</P><P>Could it be the song that will knock Jepsen from her lofty perch? Only time will tell.</P><P>Gaga will <a href="/news/articles/1686922/lady-gaga-new-album-title.jhtml">reveal the name</a>
 of her new album in September. Last week she hinted that the first song off the LP is produced by longtime collaborator DJ White Shadow, who worked with Gaga on <I>Born This Way</I> singles "Born This Way" and "The Edge of Glory."</P>

Jaimie Alexander Suffers "Horrible" Injury On "Thor" Set
Being a female action star in Hollywood comes with lots of bonuses, but Jaimie Alexander recently realized all of the high flying fun is risky business, as well.
On Monday (September 24), the 28-year-old took to her Twitter page to reveal that she had an accident on the set of next year's "Thor: The Dark World," writing, "Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I'm lucky I'm not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who've looked after me."
Although the work injury sounded to be quite dreadful, Jaimie - who plays Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) warrior goddess, Sif - later reassured her fans she is on the mend, tweeting, "Already in recovery mode and my spirits are high. I'll be back kicking ass as Lady Sif in no time! It can only get better from here on out!"
Miss Alexander's latest social media update also shows a positive road to recovery, as she wrote, "Received great news today! Meds are kicking in. Awesome funny nurses here at the hospital. Physio tomorrow. All good."
Not impacting production schedule, "Thor: The Dark World" is still set to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
Katherine Jackson Is 'Fine,' Confirms Custody Change
After going missing, Katherine says she has temporarily lost custody of Michael's children.

<P>After a <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/23/michael-jacksons-mother-not-missing/">mysterious disappearance</a> that set off a wild <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/25/fight-details-janet-and-paris-jackson/">war of words (and fists)</a> and splashed her family's business all over the media, Katherine Jackson broke her silence on Wednesday night in an attempt to set the record straight.</P><P>"I am here today to let everybody know that I am fine and I am here with my children, and my children would never do a thing to me like that, holding me against my will," she told <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/katherine-jackson-court-hearing-based-bunch-lies-exclusive/story?id=16857775&page=2#.UBEzD47v3iR" target="_blank">ABC News</a> in a statement that denied rumors she'd been kidnapped or held against her will by a group of her children. Surrounded by children Janet, Jermaine and Rebbie, as well as Rebbie's daughter, Stacy, Katherine spoke to ABC, but would not allow the network to ask her any questions. "It's very stupid for people to think that. But anyway, I am devastated that while I've been away, that my children, my grandchildren, have been taken away from me, and I'm coming home to see about that, also."</P><P>On Wednesday, a judge temporarily stripped the Jackson family matriarch of her guardianship duties for late King of Pop Michael's three children, Prince, Paris and Prince Michael II ("Blanket") handing responsibility over to their cousin, TJ Jackson. In appointing TJ, 34, son of Tito Jackson, as the new guardian for the children, the judge the judge may have further stirred the pot in what appears to be a tug-of-war between Michael's adult siblings over the late pop icon's estate. During an emergency guardianship hearing, the judge said he was not suspending Katherine for any wrongdoing, but said that she was being blocked from carrying out her guardianship by unnamed third parties, which TMZ speculated were siblings Randy, Janet, Jermaine and Rebbie.</P><P>Katherine said she had spoken to TJ (as well as Prince and Paris) and that she had left him in charge of the children when she left town more than a week ago to get some rest at a ranch in Tucson, Arizona. "I never leave home without leaving instructions of who to stay there with them," she said, noting that during her leave taking "someone" had fired the cook, the nanny and the housekeepers at the family's Encino, California, estate without her knowledge.</P><P>"I told him it wasn't necessary for him to go down and sign for guardianship," she said of TJ. "I don't know who instructed him to do that ... but he wanted me to come home before that happened, but the ruling in court today was about the guardianship and I think it was based on a bunch of lies, but I have a good idea who's doing that and who's behind that."</P><P>Katherine, 82, did not specify who she thought was behind the decision to temporarily rescind her guardianship, but she thanked her children for realizing that she needed a "short vacation." She also explained that the reason she didn't call for more than a week was that, "I just gave up my phone and I didn't want to have any phone calls while I was here." She also noted that her assistant had been in touch with TJ and that she "put everything in order" before she left Los Angeles on July 15.</P><P>"Because there's a lot of lies that have been put out there and I am going home to straighten them out and this kind of stuff doesn't make sense," she concluded. "So I want to say goodbye and I am on my way home."</P><P>One of Katherine's lawyers, Perry Sanders, said in court that he vigorously opposed a permanent move to strip Katherine of her guardianship and that when she returns to Los Angeles he will file a motion to reinstate her as guardian. The judge also ordered that the children not be removed from California without a court order and that backup guardian Diana Ross and Debbie Rowe, biological mother of the two oldest children, also be informed of the order to keep the kids in the state.</P><P>The temporary guardianship will be reviewed at a hearing scheduled for next month, where it's possible that Wednesday's action could be reversed.</P><P>While Michael's will gave Katherine custody of his children and a 20 percent stake in his massive estate, her husband, Joe Jackson, and the eight surviving Jackson siblings were completely cut out. Some of the siblings have reportedly been exploring a move to have the will invalidated by arguing that Michael was in New York on the day that the document was notarized in Los Angeles.</P><P>In a video that surfaced earlier this week, Janet Jackson is seen trying to take a cell phone away from Paris, 14, and berating her niece for using her phone to tweet about family business. That video leaked after Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson reportedly attempted to persuade Paris and Prince, 15, to leave Katherine's home on Monday. Both resisted and a short time later, sheriff's deputies arrived to break up a scuffle between Randy, Jermaine Jackson and TJ.</P><P><a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/24/fight-at-michael-jacksons-mother-house-police-called/">MTV News</a> reported that police were called to the scene but did not make any arrests.</P>

Nicole Kidman: I'll Be Hanging Out at 'American Idol'
American Idol got double the star power when it signed up country sensation Keith Urban to be a judge. That's because the Aussie singer's wife Nicole Kidman is also going to be hanging around while her husband listens, mentors and judges the contestants.
Eric Dane Totes His Tot
Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane and wife, Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Rebecca Gayheart, were photographed with their 2-year-old daughter Billie in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday (September 23). The hunky actor, 39, toted their tot as they headed toward their car.
Last month, we got our first clear glimpse of Eric and Rebecca’s daughter Georgia, nearly 9 months.
Eric recently announced that he is leaving the hit show Grey’s Anatomy after an eight season stint as Dr. Mark Sloan (a.k.a. McSteamy).
Meanwhile, after taking some time off for family, Rebecca is set to hit the big screen next year in the wedding comedy For Better Or For Worse alongside Amanda Seyfried and Nikki Reed.

Whitney Houston dies at 48
It’s no secret she’s had a rough go of it in recent years, and Whitney Houston has died of undisclosed causes, says her publicist Kristen Foster.
With her fans and friends understandably devastated by the news, details available thus far tell that the “I Will Always Love You” singer was found unresponsive in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday (February 11).
With paramedica arriving within minutes, Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55PM with a full investigation already underway - though there are said to be no signs of foul play.
According to TMZ, a search of the Beverly Hilton Hotel room in which the 48-year-old was staying found no illegal drugs, though prescription medications were located.
TMZ adds that there’s a chance Miss Houston died from drowning in the bathtub, but since her body was removed from the water before EMTs arrived the conclusive determination must await an autopsy.

Tina Fey Catches A Flight Back To New York
Yay! I love seeing the funniest woman on television, and of course, that would be the one and only Tina Fey. After knocking everyone’s socks off at the Emmy’s on Sunday night (did you see her little bit with Jon Hamm? It was too funny!), the 30 Rock star was spotted at LAX airport in Los Angeles as she was making her way back home to New York City on Monday afternoon.
Tina is one celebrity that always has a smile on her face, right? I’m loving her relaxed and casual style here, too. When you’re flying, you might as well be comfty!

VOTD: Lady Gaga Shocks The World By Smoking Pot Onstage
If you heard this news about any one rapper, chances are you wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. But hearing that pop singer and ridiculous-outfit enthusiast Lady Gaga lit up a joint onstage is baffling to the world. Just when you thought the girl couldn’t surprise you anymore she goes and does a thing like this. Watch the video below.
Lady Gaga started smoking pot onstage during her show in Amsterdam Tuesday night. She told the crowd that pot “totally changed” her life and had been “a totally spiritual experience for [her] with [her] music.”
She also said some other crazy things like that she was going to talk to President Obama about making marijuana legal worldwide (because, you know, he had that much power) and that she believed drug’s leaf symbol is the the “new peace sign.” And for those of you wondering if that giant joint got her baked, it didn’t. According to Gaga, that wasn’t nearly enough to get her high.
Lady Gaga is a controversial figure, and she has the right to do whatever she wants. But she’s got a young fan base. There are a lot of boys and girls who look up to her, some of them aren’t even teenagers. Maybe she should keep those type of recreational activities private.
