Gwyneth Paltrow and NY Times Ghostwriting Feud Carries On
Still defending her cookbook, Gwyneth Paltrow took to the "Rachael Ray Show" to continue clearing up allegations that she utilized a ghostwriter for "My Father's Daughter."
During a Skype interview with the ABC talk show host, the "Shakespeare In Love" actress shot down claims made by the New York Times, saying, "Every single recipe in the book I came up with and I cooked on the spot."
Adding that clearing up gossip isn't normally her thing, Miss Paltrow explained, “This is my professional life, and I’m writing more cookbooks, and I feel like it’s important… that [people] know this is my book, and I wrote my book, and it’s all mine.”
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the New York Times Dining section came out with an article just about a week ago claiming that multiple celebrity chefs and cook book authors obtained the help of a ghostwriter.
Paltrow first fired back on her Twitter page, writing, "Love @nytimes dining section but this weeks facts need checking. No ghost writer on my cookbook, I wrote every word myself."
Just days following the Twitter response, an NY Times rep told E! News, "The article does not merit correction." Writer Julia Moskin then penned a follow-up piece for the newspaper in which she noted, "While the article dealt with a wide range of assistance, it became clear that the notion of 'ghostwriting' carried a strong stigma in the food world. It suggested that the food itself—the ingredients, the flavors, the techniques— as invented by someone else. This does sometimes happen (call it 'ghost-cooking'), and the chefs who engage in it are the objects of a special kind of scorn." However, Moskin made it clear she was not accusing Paltrow of "ghost-cooking."
The "Contagion" actress is not the only one to have fought back on this article, as chefs such as Mario Batali, Rachael Ray and Jamie Oliver have also denied that allegations by firmly stating that there were no ghost writers involved in their publications either.

Mixing his signature bachata flair with some R&B, he is showing fans a whole new side on his debut album, <i>Formula, Vol. 1.</i> </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Romeo Breaks Into Mainstream With Lil Wayne" id="vid:734074" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Hoping to spread his unique sound and style to a mainstream audience, Santos enlisted <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> for his latest single, "All Aboard." </P><P> </P><P>"This song 'All Aboard,' that tune allowed me to expand and kind of offer my audience something totally different because it's not bachata — I'm singing English and that was really fun," Santos recently told MTV News. "I was a little nervous about that, but people actually really accepted it." </P><P> </P><P>Santos and Weezy recently shot the video for "All Aboard" in Miami; he called the clip "sexy," "seductive" and "elegant," but also revealed that this collaboration came very close to not making his album. </P><P> </P><P>"I was just like, I like the song but it's missing something, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was," Santos said. "What we did was we left 16 bars open, and I was like, you know, who would rip this track? Lil Wayne. So we reached out. It barely made the album because he's a busy dude, so he actually got on the record two months after we submitted it. It was like, if we don't get his vocals in the next two days we hit, and we got it, so we made it and the song is just really great." </P><P> </P><P>Wayne isn't the only artist Santos pulled in for his album. On his last single, "Promise," he teamed up with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, who last week joined him onstage at <a href="/news/articles/1678993/romeo-santos-solo-tour.jhtml">Santos' first of three sold-out shows</a> at New York's Madison Square Garden. </P><P> </P><P>"I felt at that moment once again I was going to revolutionize bachata 'cause it was the first time that you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata," Santos said. Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

<P>Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off <MTVNLINK type="url" id="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</MTVNLINK>'s 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again." </P><P> </P><P>That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on <a href="/news/articles/1610708/adam-allison-shine-on-idol-rock-night.jhtml">"American Idol" rock night</a> Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on <I>Rolling Stone</i> magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004. </P><P> </P><P></p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtvmusic.com:84215" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="dist=http://www.mtvmusic.com" allowFullScreen="true" AllowScriptAccess="always"></embed></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album <I>Led Zeppelin II.</i> Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon. </P><P> </P><P>For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997. </P><P> </P><P>Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. On Thursday, it was confirmed that the high-profile couple filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to <a href="/news/articles/1678877/beyonce-jay-z-blue-ivy-trademark.jhtml">trademark Blue Ivy's name</a>. The patent is intended to prevent the use of their daughter's name by non-related parties. Lily Collins Visits "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"
With just one week remaining in her new film's promotional efforts, Lily Collins spent Thursday night (March 22) hitting the talk show circuit.
The 23-year-old actress took to NBC's Burbank studios for a sitdown interview on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," during which she talked about her upcoming Snow White movie "Mirror Mirror" - which hits theaters on March 30th.
Along with dishing about the film and her talk show host dreams, Miss Collins was asked whether she's ever asked her famous musician father, Phil Collins, to make any calls to help out her career.
Not wanting to take that path, Lily replied, "No. I firmly believe personality opens doors but character keeps them open and I never wanted somebody to make a phone call for me."
"A lot of people don't believe me when I say that, but it took me a lot longer to get to where I am because I wanted that," she added.

Jessica Alba's Coldwater Playdate with Honor & Haven
Taking a break from her business running and book writing efforts, Jessica Alba stepped out for a trip to the park with her darling daughters on Wednesday afternoon (March 21).
The 30-year-old actress toted baby Haven in her arms as eldest daughter Honor romped around the Coldwater Canyon Park playground equipment with fellow youngsters at the outdoor family mecca.
Seeing Miss Alba out with her girls comes as little surprise, as she recently spoke with Parenting magazine about how she makes sure to place importance on family, telling, "The biggest surprise of motherhood is just how secondary everything else is. Before, I was always so focused on my career. Now nothing is more important to me than my kids and their well-being."
Jess also dished on how she tries to make the always-present paparazzi seem normal to Honor, saying, "If Honor's like, 'What are they doing?' I don't want her to have anxiety. So I'm like, 'Oh, nothing. They're just taking pictures. They do that to everyone. Isn't that silly?' And then that's it. It's a non-issue. Cash and I just ignore them."

Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' Track Getting Early Buzz
One radio host gets an early listen to the Believe track, out March 26, and compares it to Justin Timberlake's work.

"All I'm saying ... is wow ... so much different than his previous music," he wrote on the station's website. "Produced by Mike Posner ... the best way to describe it is a mix of Justin Timberlake 'Sexy Back' ... "Now that Justin is 18, he knows what his brand is," he said. "He knows what kind of songs are right for him. That's how you know you are genuine artist. Justin is a genuine artist!" </P><P> </P><P>Harrell added that he thinks this album could help him win a Grammy, noting, "Justin is a very creative person. He has tons of ideas. When we are working together, I allow him to flush out all of those ideas. The latest version of the song is available for purchase and is all over blogs like <a href="http://www.rap-up.com/2011/12/12/new-music-kesha-f-wiz-khalifa-andre-3000-ti-lil-wayne-sleazy-remix/" target="_blank">Rap-Up.com</a>. The song gets a bit dirtier and introspective thanks to verses from the guys that play up the track's bumping beat. </P><P> </P><P>Wiz kicks it off, rapping about designer clothes and his lady love, Amber Rose. "OK, I'm young and I'm tatted/ I get them bucks like an addict/ Rocking this Christian Dior/ I spend so much on my fabric/ I got a wifey at home/ And what she wants she can have it," he spits before going on about chilling on the beach, being rich and his prowess in the bedroom. </P><P> </P><P>Sitting in between Wiz and Tip is Andre's recycled verse, before T.I. gets his shot and gets sexy, asking Ke$ha, "Do you know what to do with me?" before he launches into a verse all about how good he is to the ladies. "Bad bitches know me/ So don't bother introducing me/ They want me more than diamonds," he brags before explaining that it has a lot to do with his impressive anatomy. </P><P> </P><P>Wayne closes it out, adding his own signature flair. Kristen Stewart: From WonderCon to the Big Apple
Fresh off of an appearance at WonderCon in Anaheim, Kristen Stewart spent Sunday (March 18) flying across the States to New York City.
The "Twilight" actress was dressed in a black quilted leather jacket, white top and jeans as she passed through the terminal at JFK Airport before hopping into an awaiting ride.
As for her WonderCon appearance, Miss Stewart took the stage for a panel Q&A session for her upcoming fairy tale based film "Snow White and the Huntsman".
During the course of the happenings, it was implied that her Snow White role is comparable to that of the Bella Swan "Twilight" character that she's so famous for.
Denying any such likeness, Kristen retorted, "I love that character [of Bella], and Snow White couldn’t be much farther from it."

Campaign aims to bring African militia leader Joseph Kony to justice for war crimes and for enlisting children as soldiers.

<P>A campaign to stop the nearly 30-year, brutal rule of African militia leader Joseph Kony became a viral sensation this week. <a href="http://kony2012.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com" target="_blank">"Kony 2012,"</a> started by the group Invisible Children, aims to make Kony's face so famous that authorities will finally be able to arrest him and try him for his crimes. </P><P> </P><P>A 30-minute <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc" target="_blank">documentary</a> released on Monday is one of the keys to the campaign, and as of Thursday it had gotten more than 26 million views. The video details the atrocities carried out by Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army. The campaign appears to be working, as at one point on Wednesday, Invisible Children and #stopkony were trending higher on Twitter than Peyton Manning or the new iPad. </P><P> </P><P>Since 1987, human rights officials say Kony has forcefully abducted more than 60,000 children to be soldiers in his army and reportedly raped, mutilated and killed civilians in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan and displaced more than 2 million people. The leader is wanted for committing atrocities by the International Criminal Court and is being hunted down by 100 U.S. Special Forces advisers and local troops in four Central African nations, according to the <a href="http://bit.ly/AyrDyz"><I>Associated Press.</I></a> </P><P> </P><P>Kony 2012 is an effort to capture Kony and disarm the LRA before a reported window of opportunity closes. One way it plans to do that is by encouraging users to directly message a variety of stars to make use of their Twitter ubiquity to get the word out. Among those listed on the site are: Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Jay-Z, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Ryan Seacrest and Ellen DeGeneres, along with a number of major policymakers. </P><P> </P><P>When users click on the celebs' photos, a tweet pops up that reads: Help us end #LRA violence.
